Pembentukan Badan Arbitrase Muamalat Indonesia dan Perubahannya Menjadi Badan Arbitrase Syariah Nasional. Dengan Ide pembentukan lembaga arbitrase Islam di Indonesia diawali dengan pertemuan Dewan Pimpinan Majelis Ulama Indonesia dengan beberapa orang praktisi hukum, cendikiawan muslim, para pakar, ilmuwan berbagai perguruan tinggi negeri dan swasta, ulama dan kiyai. Pada tanggal 22 april 1992 yang bertujuan untuk saling tukar pendapat seputar konsepsi arbitrase Islam dan perlu tidaknya suatu badan arbitrase islam hadir pada dewasa itu.
